Traditionally these positions have been filled by those who have been most active members in the organization. These individuals are responsible for organizing evening programs, finding speakers, and finding venue locations for our chapter events. We are in the process of developing a Nominating Committee so we can have elections for the officer positions; this will keep the organization fresh while ensuring continuity.

Get Involved

  • Help plan an evening program or an event

  • Join one of our committees (program committee, education committee, nominating committee, website committee)

  • Attend one of our open Board of Directors meetings. We aim to have these monthly/bi-monthly, and everyone is invited to help plan events and offer input on the functioning of AMWA-NY.

Benefits of Becoming Involved

You will get to know a small but diverse set of medical writers really well and will be able to draw on their expertise when necessary.
Also, if you are on a committee, you are eligible to be a delegate to the Board of Directors meeting for the AMWA national meeting, which is both fun and professionally rewarding.
